Margaret Tuftee

Margaret C. “Margie” Tuftee, 66, a resident of LeClaire, formerly of Bettendorf, died Friday, July 28, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park in Davenport.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Gilda’s Club of the Quad Cities.

Born on February 6, 1951 in Davenport, Margie was the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Cannon) McDonald. On April 24, 1971 in Davenport, she married Robert Tuftee.

Margie worked as a contracting officer for the Rock Island Arsenal for over 30 years, retiring in May 2016. Margie’s passion in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; enjoying numerous vacations to Disney World.  She enjoyed crafts, cross stitching, and visiting with her friends and co-workers.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 46 years, Robert “Bob” Tuftee; daughter, Jill (Eric) Veloz of Colona, Illinois; sons, Matthew Tuftee of LeClaire and Brian (Tracy) Tuftee of Bettendorf; grandchildren, Evan, Emma, Easton, and Stella; a brother, Robert (Joyce) McDonald of Bettendorf; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
