Margaret L. Voss, 83, a lifelong resident of LeClaire, Iowa died May 12, 2010 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa after and extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 3:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jack’s Cemetery, LeClaire. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Margaret was born May 19, 1926 in LeClaire, Iowa the daughter of Fred & Irma (Musal) Brown. She married the love of her life, Lawrence “Bud” Voss on January 24, 1945 in Davenport, Iowa.
She was a member of the LeClaire Women’s Club, Bunco Club, Scharff School Mother’s Club and enjoyed fishing, cooking, bowling, dancing, needlework, crocheting and spending time with her family, friends and her beloved dog, Daisy. She retired as a hard working farm lady in 1991.
She will be greeted in heaven by her parents, her son, Danny who passed in 1977 and her two grandsons, Jestin Voss who passed in 1976 and James “J.B.” Suiter,who passed in 1993.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Lawrence “Bud” Voss; sons, Richard (Brenda) Voss and Robert (Lindy) Voss all of LeClaire; daughters, Dian (Dave) Urush of LeClaire and Darlene (Rick) Suiter of Princeton, Iowa; grandchildren, Matt Voss (fiancé, Stephanie Scott), Luke Voss, Jenny (Mike) Culp all of LeClaire, Nick Voss (Allie Sime) of Bettendorf, Kevin (Stacy) Suiter of Donahue; step-grandson, Josh Sears of Bettendorf; great-grandchildren, Mikenna & Kaden Culp of LeClaire, Jaymeson, Corbin & Kayleigh Suiter of Donahue; step-great-grandaughter, Abby Sears, Bettendorf and her sister, Dorothy Graham of LeClaire.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Genesis Medical Center, West Campus and Home Bound Healthcare.
