Margaret L. "Peggy" Cornwell, 63 of Bettendorf, died on Friday, November 2, 2007, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2007, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Peggy was born February 28, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of William & Dorothy (Huller) Fock. She was united in marriage to Glen W. Cornwell on May 27, 1967 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1992.
Peggy had been employed at K-Mart in Davenport, retiring 1 1/2 years ago. She was a member of Gilda’s Club of the Quad-Cities. Her interests included crafts, sewing, playing cards, camping, baking and cooking.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Brenda (Patrick) Mirocha, of Davenport and Stefanie (Mike) Ellison, of Hudson, Iowa; her sons, Michael (Connie) Cornwell, of Grimes, Iowa and William (Rebecca) Cornwell, of Davenport; ten grandchildren; her sister, Pat (James) St. John, of Davenport; her aunt, Ella Ahlers, of Bettendorf; and her special nieces, Kim (Jeff) Jager and Sandy (Ken) Flenker.
In addition to her husband, Glen; Peggy was preceded in death by her parents.
