Margeret M. VanDeWiele, 78, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa died on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 1, 2005 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport where she was a member. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 P.M. Contribution in her memory may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or to the Tina VanDeWiele Fine Arts Memorial Scholarship.
She was born July 30, 1926 in Welton, Iowa, the daughter of Barney & Lillian (Ryan) Blanche. On November 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to Joseph J. VanDeWiele at St. Ann’s Church in Long Grove, Iowa.
Margaret was employed in the food service area of North Scott Junior High School, retiring in 1987 after 15 years of faithful service.
In earlier years, she loved to bowl and enjoyed playing cards with her friends in their regular Sunday Night Card Club.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Joe; her daughters, Lori Hawley and Patti VanDeWiele, both of Eldridge; her sons, Dean VanDeWiele & his wife, Karen of Donahue, Iowa, Dan VanDeWiele of Davenport and David VanDeWiele & his fiancé, Krista of St. Louis, Missouri; her grandchildren, Angie Johnson & her husband, Dallas, Ben Hawley, Stephanie Hawley and Brady Hawley; her great-grandson, Jackson Edward Johnson; her brothers, Bob Blanche and Bill Blanche, both of Eldridge; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tina VanDeWiele; and by her sister-in-law, Ruth Blanche.
