Margaret V. Hecker

Margaret V. Hecker, 88, a resident of Ridgecrest Retirement Village in Davenport, Iowa and formerly of Piqua, Ohio died on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Crest Healthcare Center in Davenport.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Melcher & Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Piqua Church of the Brethren where she was a former member. Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, Iowa is assisting the family with local arrangements
She was born January 24, 1918 in Houston, Ohio, the daughter of John & Mae (Carpenter) Hiegel. On November 4, 1936, she married Donald E. Hecker.
Margaret was a homemaker and in earlier years, had been employed as a cook and at the Atlas Company in Piqua.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Joan (Larry) Layman of Marion, Indiana and Jane (James) Varcho of Park View, Iowa; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Ivan Hiegel of Piqua; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, George Hiegel and by her parents.
