Marie Derrickson

Marie K. Derrickson, 76, of Buffalo, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Buffalo.  Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department.

Marie was born September 11, 1946 in Buffalo, the daughter of George & Minnie (Boyer) Kaucher.  She was united in marriage to Donald D. “Doc” Derrickson on January 5, 1968 in Buffalo.  He preceded her in death on November 21, 2006.

Marie had volunteered for various causes for many years.  She will be missed by her beloved family and friends.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Rich Derrickson of Buffalo; her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Louis Sheffler of Buffalo; her siblings,  Jim Kaucher, Pat (Les) Buffington, Judy Jewett and Helen Kaucher; and many step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Doc, Marie was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Derrickson; her granddaughter, Carlie Sheffler; her sister Carleen "Dutch" Mead; and her brother, George "Fritz" Kaucher.
