Marilee Carmody

Marilee Carmody, 75, of Davenport, died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge.  A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Shelter Assistance Program or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Marilee was born March 5, 1938 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Harold & Mary (Legrow) Williamson.  She was united in marriage to John H. Carmody on August 5, 1961 in Peoria.

Marilee retired from Caterpillar and the Scott County Health Department.

Marilee was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She had such a passion for her family.  She also enjoyed the warmth of the Florida sun during the winter months.  She enjoyed experiencing as many pre-season baseball games as she could each year.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, John; her son, Brad Carmody of Eldridge; her daughter, Heather Malito of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Cydnie, Mykenzie & Adelyn Carmody, Mindy Malito and Shanelle Josvanger; her great-grandchildren, Blake & Noah Malito; and her brother and sister-in-law, Gene & Sharita Williamson of Morton, Illinois.

Marilee was preceded in death by her parents; and by her brother, Lyle Willaimson.
