Marilyn Darnell

Marilyn Kay Darnell, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at ProMedica in Davenport, Iowa due to natural causes.

Marilyn was born on March 30th, 1955, in Pekin, Illinois the daughter of Aussie and Colleen (Terrel) LaMar . She enjoyed cooking, reading her bible and coloring.  Marilyn also helped raise three of her younger siblings; Tom, Terry, and Lila.

Surviving are her three children; Rhonda Darnell of Davenport, Iowa, Frank (Mary) Darnell of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Tabitha Darnell of Davenport, Iowa; five grandchildren; Zachari and Aaron Moeller of Davenport, Ia. Alicia Lopez of Camp Pendleton, California, Nicholas and Noah Darnell of Bettendorf, Ia. Her siblings; John (Connie) LaMar, Coal Valley, Illinois, Dale (Jewel) LaMar, Moline, Illinois, Tom (Lisa) LaMar, Vandalia, Illinois, Kim Simer of Florida, Lila LaMar of Davenport, Iowa, Bud (Katie) Butler of Blue Grass, Iowa, Andy LaMar of Davenport, Iowa, Brian (Michelle) Butler of Ramsey, Illinois, Deb Lange of DeWitt, Iowa, Dennis Butler of East Moline, Illinois and Roy Caskey of Davenport, Iowa. She was an Aunt and a Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by a sister, Franny Shafer; brothers Timothy LaMar, Junior LaMar, Terry LaMar and Jeff Shurman several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a nephew Bob LaMar.

Come celebrate Marilyn’s life, the woman who touched all our hearts with the warmth of hers, on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 12 noon to 2 P.M. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to her angel, Tabitha Darnell.
