Funeral services for Marilyn Jean Waterloo, 68, of Bettendorf IA, will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday February 18th 2025 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Bettendorf, IA. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Davenport, IA. Family will greet friends on Monday February 17th 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf and from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Tuesday at the church. The service will be live streamed at www.sjvbett.org/live-stream-mass.

Marilyn Jean Waterloo passed away on February 10, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn was born June 23, 1956 in Stevens Point WI, the daughter of Ervin and Virginia (Flisakowski) Mischnick. She married Dale Waterloo in May of 1985 in in Knowlton, WI. After working for many years at the Pleasant Valley High School, she retired from her position as A. V. room manager. She was a member of the St. John Vianney Exultate Choir and often participated in singing at funeral masses. 

Marilyn enjoyed traveling, being with her family and friends, playing bunco, watching Hallmark movies and tending to her flowers. She was an avid crafter and reader and could not resist a good “whodunit” and a family game night. 

She is survived by her husband, Dale of Bettendorf, daughter, Katelyn (Matt Hamilton) Waterloo of Davenport, son, Chris Waterloo of Bettendorf, sister, Mary (Ken) Kline of Janesville, WI, brothers, Jack (Sandy) Mischnick of Euless, TX, Jerry (Nancy) Mischnick of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, sister-in-law, Maureen Buric and 15 nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law Greg Buric. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may directed to the American Cancer Society.
