Marion L. Dreier, 88, of Davenport, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf from injuries sustained in a house fire in Moline on January 22, 2017.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, February 6, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Davenport Memorial Park.
Marion was born March 28, 1928 in Davenport, the daughter of Ralph & Elsie (Ahrens) Bartscher. She was united in marriage to LeRoy “Hap” Dreier on May 19, 1956. He was killed in the Shamrock Tavern robbery in Davenport in 1972.
Marion was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a joy to be around with a ready smile for everyone she met. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and her dog who succumbed to the fire.
Those left to honor Marion’s memory include her daughter, Crystal Lawson of Moline; her son, Ron Dreier of Davenport; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; her sister, Betty Stinson of Louisville, Kentucky; and her sister-in-law, Marion Forsythe of Mount Ayr, Iowa.
Marion was preceded in death by her son, Steve; her parents; her brothers, Roland and Donald; and her sister, Gloria.
