Marion Loretta Russow, 68, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at her home following a sudden illness.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 8, 2008 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church of Bettendorf where she was a member. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 P.M. and a prayer service conducted at 4:00 P.M. Memorials may be made the Mississippi Valley Blood Center, the Salvation Army Food Kitchen or St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
She was born April 15, 1939 in Bernard, Iowa, the daughter of Nicholas & Clara (Berthel) Decker.
Marion retired in 1992 from Deere & Company of Moline, Illinois where she had been employed for over 20 years. In retirement, she continued to work for Deere on a part-time basis.
She was a faithful volunteer for the Meals-On-Wheels Program and at the Scott Community College helping others with reading difficulties.
For many years, Marion was active in the Deere Women’s Bowling League.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Linda (Mark) O’Toole of Johnston, Iowa, Cathy (Fred) Dietz of Davenport and Karen (Ron) Claussen of Davenport; her grandchildren, Megen, Kaitlyn, Dakota & Samantha; her sisters, Alice Kurser of Kieler, Wisconsin and Ruth Decker in Alaska; and her brothers, Bob Decker of Cascade, Iowa and Steve Decker of Dubuque, Iowa.
Her sisters, Dorothy McCarthy and Leota Niederhauser and her infant brother, Leo, preceded her in death.
