Marjorie Erickson

Marjorie A. Erickson, 87, of Bettendorf, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, November 30, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Marjorie was born September 13, 1928 in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of S. Arthur & Adeline (D’Camp) Jones.  Marge graduated from Industry High School in Industry, Illinois where she was Valedictorian of the Class of 1946.  She was united in marriage to Robert S. Erickson on August 29, 1949 in Macomb.  He preceded her in death on January 18, 1981.

She had retired from Plumb’s Carpet in Bettendorf in 1990 after 22 years as office manager.

Marge was an avid bowler in earlier years and she enjoyed all sports.  She was a St. Louis Cardinals and Buffalo Bills fan and she enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Jill Haupt of Rock Island, Illinois; her sons, Stanley (Rosy) Erickson of Bettendorf, Randy Erickson of Garden Grove, California, Ryan (Deb) Erickson of Moline, Illinois and Rudy (Karen) Erickson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Artha Jane Kearby and Brenda Jones, both of Macomb. Marge’s family would also like to acknowledge her “extended” family at Luther Manor and Luther Heights

In addition to her husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; and her granddaughter, Lindsey; and her brothers, John David Jones and Charles Jones.
