Marjorie Gillam

Marjorie A. Gillam, 83, of Bettendorf, passed away Sunday January 12, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society in Davenport, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:30 AM Friday January 17, 2014 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
Marjorie was born May 25, 1930 in DeWitt, Iowa, the daughter of Axel and Lillian (Corrison) Ahlgren. On October 14, 1949 she united in marriage to Keith Gillam in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2006. Marjorie worked as the manager of Jack and Jill Grocery Store in LeClaire, retiring in the 80’s.
Marjorie enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, doing many craft projects, watching NASCAR, and gardening.
She will be remembered by her two sons John (Dana) Gillam of DeWitt, Iowa, and Kenneth (Pamela) Gillam of Davenport; her grandchildren, Johnnie Gillam Jr., Kimberly Gillam, Jessica Gillam, and David Martin; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol (Donald) Sidlinger and Marion Henderkott; and many nieces and nephews, including Pam and Keith Holst of Princeton, Iowa.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Keith Gillam; parents; two brothers Melvin and Albert Gillam; and three sisters, Vernell Wright, Florence DeMeulenaere, and Lillian Holst.
