Marjorie L. Fisher, 82, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Friday, December 23, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Genesis Hospice.
She was born on October 19, 1923 in Ottawa, Illinois. On October 10, 1960, she was united in marriage to William J. Fisher in Sycamore, Illinois. He preceded her in death in August of 1984.
Marjorie was an accomplished cook and taught cooking & baking for the Davenport Park District for many years. Her cooking skills brought her many awards and recognitions over the years. She also enjoyed working in her garden, doing ceramics and taking day trips. Above all else, her family, especially her beloved grandchildren & great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons & daughters-in-law, Donald & Linda Sharar of Blue Grass, Iowa and Tom & Teresa Sharar of Morning Sun, Iowa; her daughter & son-in-law, Kristine & Tade Gerischer of Cambridge, Maryland; nine grandchildren; five grandchildren and another expected in May.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Roy Sharar; her infant daughter, Patricia; two sisters; and one brother; and her parents, Nels & Louise Lande.
