Mark Lawrence Cross, 52, of Bettendorf, went to be with the Lord on Mother’s Day morning, May 12, 2013.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Bettendorf Christian Church in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the church. Memorials may be made to the Mark L. Cross Memorial Fund. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mark was born on September 25, 1960 in Ft. Madison, Iowa the son of Leo R. and Marilyn (Glenn) Cross. He married the love of his life, Donna Marie Murphy on December 27, 1985.
Mark worked for Hickory Grove Auto for the last 16 years. He loved being outdoors and his dream was to build their home in the middle of a forest, surrounded by trees with their own running water and wind generated electricity.    Mark loved wrestling and Sci-Fi movies.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife Donna of Bettendorf; three sons, Aaron Lawrence (Angie) Cross of LeClaire, Bryce Alan (Whitney) Cross and Craig Richard (Jacqueline) Cross, both of Davenport; five grandchildren, Kira, Josalyn, Summer, Zoe and Elliott Michael; his mother, Marilyn of Bettendorf; three sisters, Christine (Larry) Mechem of Davenport, Sheree (Steve) Rogers of Jensen Beach, FL and Suzanne (Jimmy) Otts of Davenport; and two cousins who became like brothers, William B. Cross of Norman, OK and Robert O. Cross, Jr. of California.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and his faithful dog, Rosa.
