Mark G. Lebeck, 45, of Eldridge, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge and an hour before the services on Thursday at the church.  Memorials may be made to the family to benefit an educational fund for his son, Hayden.

Mark was born January 26, 1969 in Denison, Iowa, the son of Gary & Judy (Swenson) Lebeck.  He attended high school in Grinnell, Iowa and Central College in Pella, Iowa.  Mark also attended the University of Iowa, where he earned Master’s degrees in Epidemiology and in Industrial Hygiene.  He was currently studying for his Doctorate in Industrial Hygiene.

Mark was united in marriage to Christina R. Morehead on October 30, 2004 in Maquoketa, Iowa.  Their son Hayden, was born in 2005.

He was employed with West Liberty Foods in West Liberty, Iowa as a Process Safety manager. Mark had also been enlisted with the Peace Corps for a number of years.  He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs fan.  He had also coached football, baseball and basketball for Hayden’s teams.  Mark will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife & son, Christy & Hayden; his parents, Judy Swenson-Lebeck of Waukee, Iowa and Gary Lebeck of Walnut, Iowa; his sisters, Heidi (Ed) Elliott of Rochester, Minnesota and Kristin (Ross) Polking of Omaha, Nebraska; his brothers, Scott (Kim) Lebeck of Coralville, Iowa and Kirk (Krista) Lebeck of Dubuque, Iowa; his parents-in-law, Rosie Morehead of Maquoketa and Bob & Carla Morehead of Elwood, Iowa; and eighteen nieces and nephews.
