Marlene L. (Lewis) Boley, 79, a resident of Davenport, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Davenport Lutheran Home.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Risen Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport. Private burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Risen Christ Lutheran Church. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on March 10, 1935 in Des Moines, Marlene was the daughter of Paul and Martha (Kruckenberg) Wenndt. On September 4, 1964 in Rock Island, she married Thomas Rex Lewis. He preceded her in death in 1998. On January 15, 2005 in Davenport, she married Jack C. Boley.
Marlene was employed as an instructor at the Handicapped Development Center in Davenport for 10 years. She was a member of Risen Christ Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary of Lowden, Iowa.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Jack; children, Patti Lewis of East Moline and Bill Lewis of Des Moines; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Bob Wenndt of Davenport and Bill Bowen of Burlington; and step-children, Bill (Paula) Lewis of Knoxville, TN, David (Laura) Lewis of Stillwater, OK, Ardyth (Jim) Boucher of Des Moines, Stuart (Krystal) Boley of Des Moines, Karen (Bill) Faris of Davenport and Erma Hill of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her second husband, Rex.
