Marliss M. Nelson, 83, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Friday, July 22, 2016 at her daughter’s home in LeClaire, Iowa.
Funeral Services & Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Our Lady of the River Catholic Church in LeClaire. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire. Memorials may be made to the church or to the Lymphoma Leukemia Society.
Marliss was born May 14, 1933 in Lowry, Minnesota, the daughter of John & Josephine (Brosh) Bosek. She was united in marriage to Roger L. Nelson in Lowry, Minnesota on November 15, 1955. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2010.
She enjoyed the time spent with her family and “Buddy” the dog and watching the White Sox and Cubs.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Tammy Nelson of LeClaire; her sons, Kenneth Nelson of Princeton, Iowa and Joseph (Dawn) Nelson of LeClaire; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and her brother, John “Jeaner” Bosek of Alexandria, Minnesota.
In addition to her husband, Roger, Marliss was preceded in death by her parents; one grandchild; and her brothers, Floyd and Dennis.
