Marveen L. Thompson, 91, of LeClaire, Iowa, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2014 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire.
Marveen was born October 4, 1922 in Princeton, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde S. & Goldie (Ballard) Thompson. She had attended Bible College in Dayton, Ohio for six years. She then spent four years overseas in Venezuela participating in Missionary work. Marveen moved to California where she had taught Elementary Education for fifteen years and moved back to LeClaire from Anaheim in 1990.
Those left to honor her memory include her nieces, Gloria Ward, Melody Boice, Margo Lutz and Nancy Thompson; her nephews, Mike Alsman, Mark Alsman, Myron Alsman, Cory Thompson and Steve Thompson; and multiple great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Anita Alsman; her brothers, Wayne, William & Russell; and a niece, Connie Thompson.
