Marvin L. Leight, 76, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at Meadow Lawn Nursing Center, Davenport, Iowa.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
He was born September 15, 1929 in Pleasant Valley, the son of Lawrence & Lenore (Maiden) Leight.
Marvin & his brother, Nathan raised and sold onions in Pleasant Valley for many years. In earlier years, he was employed at Alcoa and at Caterpillar.
During the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army.
Those left to honor his memory include his sisters & brothers-in-law, Jessie & Walter Catlin of Bettendorf and Jean & Howard Park of Clarence, New York; and his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth & Sandy Leight of Post Falls, Idaho.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Susie; his brother, Nathan; and by an infant brother.
