Mary Barnes

Mary Barnes, 102 a recent resident of Senior Star in Davenport, Iowa died on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the Kahl Home in Davenport.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

She was born in Russell, Kansas on February 10, 1921, the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth (Kraft) Riffel.  In 1942, she was united in marriage to Lawrence A. Barnes in Burbank, California.  He preceded her in death on August 14, 2011.

Mary was a devoted homemaker, wife, mom & grandma whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Dr. Larry (Nancy) Barnes of Princeton, Iowa; her grandchildren, Jon Moffitt of Emporia, Kansas, Stefanie Harp of Collinsville, Oklahoma and Zachary Moffitt of St. Charles, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild expected soon.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, four sisters and three brothers.
