Mary V. Cutforth, 93, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Bettendorf Healthcare Center. Many family and friends knew her as “Jackie.”
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or to Genesis Hospice.
Mary was born on October 2, 1925 in Monticello, Missouri, the daughter of Jeppy and Bessie (Barkley) Million. On May 11, 1953 she married Floyd Cutforth Jr. in Iowa City, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2006.
Mary was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She worked for Winegard Company in Burlington, Iowa for many years before moving to Bettendorf in 1970.
Mary enjoyed traveling, especially in their motor home. She loved camping and spending the winters in Florida with Floyd and their many friends. She was a devoted loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mary lived for her family. Her fried chicken was simply the best.
She is survived by her two sons, Jay (Ruby) Leftwich of Maywood, Missouri, and Steve (Vicki) Cutforth of Bettendorf; three grandchildren, Jason Leftwich, Paula Maples and Colton Cutforth; two great-grandchildren, Tori and Kendra Maples; her step-son, Terry (Betty) Cheeseborough of Visalia, California; her stepdaughter-in-law, Sheri Cheeseborough of Visalia; and five step- grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Floyd, Jackie was preceded in death by her son, Kennon Leftwich; a step-son, Kent Cheeseborough; and brothers, Barkley and Joe Million.
