Mary P. Gribbons, 66, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the family.
Mary was born October 21, 1951 in Princeton, Missouri, the daughter of James R. & Mary A. (Hamilton) Goff. She was a 1970 graduate of Clarke Community High School is Osceola, Iowa.
Mary was united in marriage to Michael S. Gribbons on May 21, 1977 in Osceola.
She had earned three associates degrees from Scott Community College and was licensed by the Foursquare Church in 1981. She and Michael had pastored in the Foursquare churches in Osceola, Marinette, Wisconsin and LeClaire for forty years.
Mary had worked for many years as a legal secretary for various attorneys in Wisconsin and Iowa. She will be remembered as “Miss Mary” by the many children of the Foursquare church in LeClaire over the years.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Michael; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Lea & Cliff Welsh of Bethany, Missouri, Lorene & Jeff Tenney of Vinton, Iowa and Sara & Eddie Koenig of south Missouri; her brother and sister-in-law, Andy & Linda Goff of Ankeny, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father George B. Flint; and her daughter, Allison on April 3, 2018.
