Mary R. Holland, 84, of Bettendorf, died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 28, 2011 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Mary was born January 21, 1927 in Owensboro, Kentucky, the daughter of James & Martine (Paetre) Payne. She was united in marriage to Forrest G. Holland on July 18, 1948 in Owensboro.
Mary enjoyed the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. In earlier years, she enjoyed bowling.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Forrest; her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry & Colleen Holland of Bloomington, Indiana and Terry “Doug” & Rebecca Holland of DeKalb, Illinois; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and her sister, Wanda Faye Lance of State College, Pennsylvania.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers.
