Mary L. Kitt, 85, a resident of Princeton, Iowa and formerly of Davenport, Iowa died on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
Services will be private. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born April 1, 1927 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Paul & Hazel (Williams) Hildebrand. On July 26, 1944, she was united in marriage to Clair E. Struble in Aledo, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1965. She later was united in marriage to Rex Kitt in 1970 and he preceded her in death on February 3, 1998.
Mary worked for many years in the auto parts business for Emeis Automotive Electronics of Davenport and for Danny’s Automotive Service in Muscatine, Iowa.
In her spare time, she loved gardening, going bowling, camping with her family and fishing.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Gary (Jo) Struble of Princeton and Donald (Betty) Struble of Titusville, Florida; her grandchildren, Mike, Tim & Daniel Struble, Kim Nylin and Christie, Maryann & Lacey Struble; sixteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, David Eugene Struble; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Ila; and her brothers, Harry, Dick & Les Hildebrand.
