Mary Murphy

Mary Lee Murphy, 86, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 after a short illness. She was born July 27, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt. Memorials may be made to The Vera French Foundation to support Youth and Adult mental health services - verafrenchmhc.org.
Mary was a long time Bettendorf resident who enjoyed many civic activities the area offered including the Quad City Symphony, annual Beaux Arts Fair, and museums and concerts throughout the area.
Mary was proud of her education at Maryville Academy and Sienna Heights College and shared fond memories of music and theatre performances.
The family wishes to thank many in the Quad-City community who for years provided support along the way.
Mary is survived by her five children Chris (Ed) Grillot, Russ (Cindy), Ken, Dale (Debbie), Mark (David Allyn), and her eldest sister, Martha Vidal.
Mary was preceded in death by her brother Fred and her sister Cecelia Vidal.
