Mary M. Schneckloth, 82, a former resident of Eldridge, Iowa died on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Kahl Home for the Aged in Davenport, Iowa where she had resided for several years.
Private family services will be held at the Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge. Memorials may be made to the St. Ann’s Catholic Church auxiliary or to the Scott County Library.
She was born in Davenport on January 23, 1942 and was a 1960 graduate of North Scott High School. Mary later graduated from the Marycrest College School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for 50 years in Davenport and Eldridge primarily in private practice. She also owned and operated BJ’s Gourmet Foods, specializing in soups, dips and sauces for many years.
Her memberships included the St. Ann’s Catholic Church Auxiliary and Springbrook Country Club.
Mary was a voracious reader, loved gardening, participated in a number of card clubs, had impeccable tastes and treasured the times spent with her beloved family.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Don (Heather) Schneckloth of Davenport and Tom (Kelly) Schneckloth of Eldridge; her grandchildren, Shannon, Nicki, Amanda, Aly, Sarah, Kaiden and Gavin; her great-grandchildren, Breanna, Lainey, Emmit, Melania, Eli and Dakota; her sisters, Cheryl Berg of Davenport, Christine (John) O’Neil of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Charlene (Arnie) Thode of Davenport; her brother-in-law, Eugene Honert in Pennsylvania; along with many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Dean, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Honert; and her brother-in-law, Phil Berg.
