Mary Arlene Schutter, 90, a resident of Bettendorf, IA died Wednesday, April 06, 2011 at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Arlene was born January 26, 1921 in Moline, Illinois the daughter of Wallace and Hazel (Bennett) Cochrane. She was a graduate of Rock Island High School. She was united in marriage to Stanley Schutter on November 24, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. They have been happily married for sixty-eight years.
She and her husband, Stanley farmed onions in Pleasant Valley for many years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Stanley; her son, John (Kathy) Schutter, Bettendorf, Iowa; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sisters, Patricia Sturms, Davenport, Iowa and Beatrice Eads, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews and her close friends, Debbie, Curtis and Trevor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Hazel Cochrane; her daughters, Karen, Kathleen, Jane and Nancy and her sister, Marion Rose Nichols.
