Mary Stephens

Mary (Bisignano) Stephens, 96, of Eldridge, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at her home.

Funeral Services and Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Long Grove, Iowa where she was a member. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the church or to the Scott County Library System. Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary was born November 15, 1918 in Des Moines, the daughter of Vincenzo & Raffaela (Altomari) Bisignano.  She was united in marriage to Kenneth A. Stephens on November 24, 1946 in Des Moines.  He preceded her in death on September 16, 1989.

Mary enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis & Cynthia Stephens of Overland Park, Kansas and Ronald & Mary Kay Stephens of Yorba Linda, California; her daughter and son-in-law, Connie & Kenneth Owings of Eldridge; her grandchildren, Jeff (Jennifer) Stephens, David Stephens, Michael (Kimberlie) Stephens, Christopher (Susan) Stephens, Veronica Stephens, Katherine Stephens, Stephen Owings and Andrew Owings; three great-grandsons, Everett, Clayton and August;  and her sister, Anne Bisignano of Des Moines.

In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Charles and Frank; and her sister, Rose.
