Mary E. Kelling, 75, of Bettendorf passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Bettendorf Healthcare Center.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, March 27, 2009 at Davenport Memorial Park. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mary was born October 23, 1933 to John and Ethel (Cole) Smith. She graduated from Linwood High School and went on to be a nurse at the former St. Luke's Hospital in Davenport.
She married Herbert G. Kelling on September 12, 1958 and they recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.
They were blessed with two granddaughters, Sydney and Haley. Up until the time Mary's grandchildren were born, she was a nanny in Bettendorf. She dedicated her life to raising children.
She is survived by her husband Herb Kelling (Bettendorf), her son Mark (Amy) Kelling (LeClaire), her two granddaughters, Sydney and Haley Kelling (LeClaire), her niece, Lisa (Randy) Covington (San Antonio, TX), and her nephew, Brad Howard (Walcott).
She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Joan Howard and Jewel Hicks.
