One of God’s earthly angels has been called home to be with her Lord. Mary Florence (Robertson) Brayton began her ascent into Heaven on April 23, 2007.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, April 30, 2007 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. Sunday and 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. . Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
She leaves behind a wealth of friends and family whom she loved & cherished. Mary Florence was brought into the world on October 2, 1928 in Mechanicsville, Iowa by her parents, Harley & Theressa (Clay) Robertson. She married Charles E. Brayton in Lisbon, Iowa in February of 1950 and enjoyed 35 years of marriage until he was taken to Heaven in January of 1986
She was employed as a home aide with the Scott County Visiting Nurses & Homemakers Association for 7 years and in earlier years, as a nurse’s aide at the former St. Luke’s Hospital in Davenport, Iowa..
Mary was devoted to her beloved church, the First Baptist Church of Bettendorf for more than 20 years. She was equally devoted to her beloved children, Linda Nosal and Barbara Trail, both of Lincoln, Nebraska, Cynthia (& husband, Earl) Wells, of Bettendorf and Donald Brayton of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Brent (& wife, Ami) Nosal, and Bethany Nosal; and her great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Shantel, Jeremiah and Brady. Mary has also left her dear sister & brother-in-law, Nola & Gaylord Owens of Lisbon, Iowa and their children; her cousin, Lyle (& wife, Kay) Shankland; her nephews, Leonard and Steve Clay; her niece Sheri (& husband, Brian) Kincaid and their children; and an immeasurable number of dear friends.
Mary Florence will be welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Harley & Theressa Robertson, her husband, Charles Brayton, her younger sister, Harlene (Robertson) Robards, her son-in-law, David Nosal; her sisters-in-law, Thelma Brayton and Josephine (Brayton) Robertson & her husband, Jack , her nephew, Robert Owens; and many other relatives and treasured friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either First Baptist Church of Bettendorf or to WDLM Radio of East Moline, Illinois.
