Maurine Ann Hamilton, a resident of Davenport, Iowa went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 27, 2011.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 26, 2011 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the services on Saturday at the funeral home. Private burial services will be held at Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire.
She was born December 17, 1946 in Davenport, the beloved daughter of Donald & Bernadine (Eckermann) Hamilton and was a graduate of Bettendorf High School. She later attended and graduated from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
Maurine was a gifted and artistic person who took great pleasure in gardening and caring for her many house plants. She loved listening to Blues music and will always be remembered for the delicious bread she baked. Maurine had a deep appreciation for the beauty of Mother Nature and enjoyed camping and traveling with her family.
Those left to honor her memory include her sisters, Jacqueline (Tom) Knapper of Eldridge, Iowa, Robin Hamilton of LeClaire, Iowa and Susan (Bruno) Rodriguez of Arvada, Colorado; her nieces, Vanessa Rodriguez of Arvada and Abigail Rodriguez of Westminister, Colorado; and her nephew, Darin Rodriguez of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
Her parents, her sister, Patricia and her beloved cat, “Little”, preceded her in death.
