Maxine Buikema

July 22, 1924 — April 21, 2015

Maxine Marie Buikema, 90, a resident of Walcott, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society in Davenport.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Calvary United Methodist Church in Walcott. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 22, 1924 in Calamus, Iowa, Maxine was the daughter of Floyd Samuel and Marie (Wilcke) McNeil. On September 1, 1944, she married her first husband, Lee N. Lincoln. On December 30, 1970 in Rock Island, she married John Ronald Buikema.

Maxine was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Walcott. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, volunteering and gardening. Maxine cherished her time spent with her family.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ron Buikema; daughters, Barbara (Ken) Schlotfeldt of Geneseo, Illinois, Rebecca (Tim) Adams of Davenport, Iowa and Jennifer (Richard) Stults of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sons, David Lincoln of Rough and Ready, California and Mark Lincoln of Penn Valley, California; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Petersen and Vivian Bitner both of Wheatland, Iowa; brothers, Roger McNeil of Grand Mound, Iowa and Dennis McNeil of Rock Island, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lee Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Tami and a brother, Lawrence.
