Maxine I. Harvey, 93, of Bettendorf, died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility in Bettendorf.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2015 at Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport. Those wishing to attend the services should meet at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church in Bettendorf where she was a member.
Maxine was born July 26, 1921 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Kneal & Grace (McFadden) Moughler. She was united in marriage to Arthur K. Harvey in Davenport in 1960. He preceded her in death in 1981.
Maxine received her education in the Davenport school district and had been employed for many years at the Rock Island Arsenal and J.I. Case. In addition to the church, her memberships included the Quad-City Times Plus-60 Club and the Western Fraternal Life Association. She had also volunteered for the Bettendorf Food Pantry for several years.
Those left to honor her memory include her sister, Valeta Boot of Rock Island, Illinois; and her step-children, Sharon (Edward) Hess of Texas and Alan (Mary) Harvey of Virginia; four step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and two nieces of Missouri.
In addition to her husband, Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Virgil, Russell and Clarence Moughler
The family would like to express special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of the Iowa Masonic Health Facility for all the care they provided for Maxine.
