Max J. Chester

Max J. Chester, 76, of Davenport, died Sunday, January 9, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4929 N. Wisconsin Avenue in Davenport. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Max was born September 15, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Dinest & Laverta Mae Chester. He was employed for 25 years at Bowe Machine Company in Bettendorf. He was united in marriage to Barbara Holmes Conant on November 19, 1961 in Los Angeles, California. Max enjoyed reading, walking, and playing horseshoes and cards.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Donna Chester-Uharriet and her husband, Thomas, Salt Lake City, Utah and Diana Morris and her husband, John, Rock Island, Illinois; his step-son, Daniel Conant, Davenport; two grandchildren; and his brother, Lloyd Chester, Rock Island.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and six brothers.
