May “Rusty” Ford, 71, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus in Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 12, 2011 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family.
May was born September 8, 1939 in Lone Oak, Kentucky. She was united in marriage to Charles Ford who preceded her in death on November 8, 2004.
She was an accomplished musician and songwriter and had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Alzheimer’s patients over the years.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Delia Ford of Bettendorf; her sons, Fletcher (Audra) Ford of Blue Grass, Iowa, Edward Ford of Carbondale, Illinois, Paul Russellburg and Sammy Russellburg, both of Maysville, Kentucky; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, May was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Rodney Ford; her daughter Tina Russellburg; and several brothers and sisters.
