Funeral services for Maye H. Skinner, 71, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.
Maye passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Bettendorf Healthcare Center in Bettendorf.
Maye was born April 22, 1935 in Neligh, Nebraska, the daughter of Limbart & Edna (Lennert) Tichota. She was united in marriage to John Skinner on March 2, 1953 in O’Neill, Nebraska.
Maye had attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She had served as a den mother for Cub Scouts in earlier years. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, John; her daughter and son-in-law, Kassandra & Randy Pobanz, of Davenport; her son, Wayne Skinner, of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Jessica Willette and her husband, Jason, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jonathan Skinner, of Bettendorf, and Eric Pobanz, of Davenport; her great-grandchildren, Makenna Willette and Tyson Skinner; her sister, Gloria Pochop and her husband, Larry, of Nebraska; her brothers, Merle Tichota, and his wife, Jan, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Ralph Tichota, and his wife, Barb, of Neligh, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.
Maye was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Kenneth Skinner.
