Maynard L. Danielson, 78, a resident of Muscatine, Iowa, formerly of Lovell, Wyoming died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Muscatine Lutheran Home, Muscatine, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, Iowa. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
Maynard was born June 2, 1931 in Fargo, North Dakota the son of Dan D. and Gladys (Loberg) Danielson. He served in the United States Marine Corps in the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Doris L. Ridgeway on June 19, 1976 in Davenport, Iowa. She preceded him in death on December 30, 2008.
Maynard worked as a fork truck driver at the Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Illinois until his retirement in 1990.
He enjoyed working on cars, camping, mountains, NASCAR, professional wrestling gardening and flowers.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Rita Smith, Burlington, Iowa, Linda (Dean) Chase, Silvis, Illinois, Dina Sicken, Muscatine, Iowa, Debbie (Fred) Petersen, Rock Lake, North Dakota, Trina Danielson, North Dakota and Dawn Henson, Tennessee; his sons, Ernest (Jeanine) Ridgeway, Lexington, Minnesota and David Danielson, Davenport, Iowa; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his sister, Doreen (Rodger) Klages, O’Fallon, Illinois.
Along with his wife, Doris, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Donald Ridgeway, one son, one daughter and several siblings.
