Michael Jones

July 25, 1979 — February 26, 2017

Michael Lee Jones, 37, a resident of Davenport, passed on to Heaven to be with our Lord on Sunday, February 26, 2017.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Born on July 25, 1979 in Davenport, Michael was the son of John and Pamela (York) Jones. He married Elizabeth George on December 15, 2000.

Mike worked construction with his family and also for several concrete companies. He enjoyed trapping, hunting, and fishing and was an avid Steelers fan. Mike’s greatest pride and joy in his life was his son, Hunter, who he loved watching play baseball.

Those left to honor his memory include his son, Hunter; parents, John and Pam; sister, Angie Jones and her boyfriend, Boober Roberts; brothers and their wives, John and Jennifer Jones, Danny and Brandy Jones; nephews, John, Tanner and Kalvyn; nieces, Brieanna, Josie and Katie; several aunts and uncles; special friends, Cora, Lisha Burch (Lisha and Mike had a special bond, including Mike being “PA Mike” to a little boy, Liam, whom he loved as his own.), Liz George (who supported and stood by him until the end.), Tommy Fuller, Travis Corson, Mark Sullivan, Derick Meier, Matt Dykes, Brandi Stock, Chris Naab and Nikki Venhorst, Todd Marquette and Deb Hulquist, and Laderrick.

Mike will be remembered for his big heart, his willingness to help everyone and his big, contagious smile. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
