Michael Craig Luse, 64, of Davenport died unexpectedly Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme St. in Davenport.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Scott County Humane Society, American Red Cross or Newcomb Presbyterian Church.
Born May 11, 1953 in Davenport, Michael was the second child of Ira (Dick) and Bernice (Seedorf) Luse. Mike graduated from Davenport West High in 1973, and worked at Alcoa for 43 years as a machinist, retiring April 1, 2017. He was united in marriage to Sandra J. Van Sant on November 5, 1977 in Bettendorf.
Mike loved fishing, gardening, antiquing and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, and cooking programs.
Those left to honor Mike’s memory include his wife, Sandra; three children, David (Rena) Luse of Davenport, Laura (Joshua) Williams of Florida, and Tina Luse of Virginia; three grandchildren, Michael, Sophia, and Savannah; brother, Richard (Sue) Luse and sister Leslie (Carl) Franks; and his ‘little’ dog, Lexi.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
