Michael John Wigans

On Friday, May 2, 2025, there will be visitation for family and friends for Michael John Wigans, 59, of Eldridge. We will gather at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Mike passed away at Mercy One Genesis on Friday, April 25, 2025.

Mike was born on September 7, 1965, in Cedar Falls, IA, to Allen and Carol (Klit) Wigans. He graduated from Newton High School in 1984 and attended the University of Iowa where he received his Doctorate in Chemical Engineering. He worked in IT for the National Weather Service in Davenport. He met Margie Palmer in 2007, and they married at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf on February 29, 2008.

He was a member of H.O.G (the Harley Owners Group). He enjoyed working on cars, especially his 1969 Camaro and his jukebox. He liked to collect nostalgic items, like games and wooden planes. He loved spending time with his family and his dogs, Max and Eliza.

Survivors include his wife, Margie of Eldridge, daughter, Mikaela Hoover of Eldridge, sons, Zachary Wigans of Davenport, Patrick (Ashley) Wigans of Aledo, IL, his parents, Allen and Carol Wigans of Newton, IA, granddaughter, Ariel of Grandview, IA, sister, Tracy (Verlyn) Sill of Clive, IA, and brother, Timothy (Lynn) Wigans of Cedar Rapids, IA.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
