Mickey J. Kendrick, 58, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 following a long & brave battle with cancer.
Private family services will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Komen Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265-0309 (1-888-888-3317). McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born October 5, 1947 in Hereford, Texas, the daughter of Joseph R. & Laura E. (Tidwell) Davis. Mickey received her Batchelor’s degree in elementary education from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas.
On April 16, 1967, she was united in marriage to Michael H. Kendrick in Canyon, Texas.
Mickey was an elementary school teacher in Germany and later with the Bettendorf Public School System. She retired in 2003.
Her beloved family was the joy of her life and she loved the man trips to their cabin in Colorado.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Michael; her daughters, Heather M. Kendrick, Elizabeth A. Mason & her husband, Joel and Mikayla B. Kendrick, all of Bettendorf; her son, Michael H. Kendrick Jr. & his wife, Lindsay A. of Wauconda, Illinois; and her granddaughter, Hayden Mason (and two others expected soon).
Mickey was preceded in death by her parents.
