Mildred Marie Lynch, 81, a resident of Davenport, Iowa passed away at her home on Sunday, July 3, 2011.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. She will be laid to rest at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born March 3, 1930 in Hannibal, Missouri, the daughter of Tom & Ida Mae (Farrell) Bates. In 1947, she was united in marriage to Paul Lester Lynch Sr. in Hannibal. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1995.
Mildred was a devoted wife, mom, grandma & great-grandma. She loved making waxed roses, enjoyed caring for her garden and taking care of her wide variety of house plants.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Paul Lynch Jr. of Davenport and William Lynch of Davenport; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; her sister, Patricia Peiffer of Davenport; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Valerie Lynch; her sisters, Mary Sharp, Gracie Todd and Edna Boggs; and her brothers, Thomas Bates, Freddie Bates and Howard Bates.
