Mildred G. Savola

Mildred G. Savola, 82, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Wednesday, June 09, 2004 at Fejervary Healthcare Center, Davenport, Iowa.
There will be no local visitation or service. Interment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Westchester County, New York. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born November 26, 1921 in the Bronx, New York, the daughter of Walter & Hilma (Saarri) Soderlund. On February 20, 1943, she was united in marriage to John Henry Savola in the Bronx. He preceded her in death in December of 1976.
In earlier years, Mildred was employed in banking & bookkeeping in Manhattan. In addition, she worked in the catering business for many years.
Those left to honor her memory include her son & daughter-in-law, Ron & Tessie Savola of Davenport; her granddaughters, Mary Bock & her husband, Scott, Kelly McCallum and Teri Savola; and her great-granddaughter, Brittany Bock.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Joanne & Karen; and by her sister, Lillian Anderson.
