Milford Gray

Milford E. Gray, 76, of Davenport, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport.

A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at McGinnis Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to an animal shelter of the donor's choice or to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

Milford was born Sept. 27, 1938, in Davenport, the son of Milford and Marie (Peterson) Gray. A graduate of the former Davenport High School, he served in the United States Army.

Milford was united in marriage to Constance "Connie" M. Nielsen on April 4, 1964, in Moline.

Milford was retired from John Deere, where he had been employed as a computer administrator for 38 years. He enjoyed watching Formula One and IndyCar racing, boating and snow skiing. He also liked personal computing, collecting race car models and road and track and sports car graphic magazines.

Milford love doing things with his family, camping and traveling in earlier years, and had the best granddaughter in the world.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Connie; his daughter, Pamela Hodge, Rock Island; his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Angie Gray, Pleasant Valley; and his granddaughter, Kelcie Hodge.

Milford was preceded in death by his parents.
