Millard G. Rupe, Jr.

Millard G. Rupe, Jr. , 82, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Trinity UnityPoint Health in Bettendorf.

Private family services will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Millard was born December 1, 1940 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Millard G. Sr. & Isal (Cosper) Rupe.  He had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and for several years after.

Millard was retired from the Rock Island Arsenal where he was employed in food and janitorial service for twenty years. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading war books.  He will be remembered for his sense of humor and loved the company of dogs, and his beloved daughters and grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory are his daughters, Tina (Chad) Day of Bettendorf, Tracy (Ryan) Uhle of Davenport and Diana Rupe of Waukee, Iowa; his grandchildren, Chelsea, Brittany, Chase, Delaine, Michael & Ellie; his sisters, Anita Yeast of Bettendorf and Tina (Robert) Soniat of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.

Millard was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Evelyn Rupe and Darlene Broy; and his brothers, Ivan and David Rupe.
