Edith Mildred “Millie” McMahan, 92, a resident of the Kahl Home in Davenport, Iowa and formerly of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at the Kahl Home.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born July 4, 1913 in Palmyra, Missouri, the daughter of Clyde Logan & Lottie Belle (Duff) Ellis. In 1934, she was united in marriage to Harold Thomas in Palmyra. In 1952, she was united in marriage to Clyde W. “Mac” McMahan in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1988.
Millie was employed by the Davenport Community School District for many years, retiring in 1976.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Evelyn Gail Thurston of Bettendorf and Janice K. Brinkley of Davenport; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister and by two brothers.
