Milo L. "Jake" Morris, 53, a resident of Davenport, Iowa passed away peacefully on Friday, April 30, 2004 after a brief illness with his family at his side.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Nahant Marsh.
He was born November 19, 1950 in Davenport, the son of Carl & Betty (Lopez) Morris and was a 1970 graduate of Davenport West High School.
Milo worked for the Rock Island Lines Railroad and was a switchman for the D.R.I. & N.W. Railroad as well. He was most recently employed as a lead man and fabricator for Yankee Plastics of Riverdale, Iowa.
Jake enjoyed being a part of his son’s racing team along with Jarod & Ed.
He also loved being outdoors, wildlife, drawing & gardening. The Native American Culture was of deep & abiding interest to Jake. Above all else, he especially cherished the time spent with his beloved grandkids.
Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Betty Morris of Davenport; his son & daughter-in-law, Emilio & Carrie Ann Morris of Davenport; his daughter, Monica Morris of Davenport; his granddaughters, Emma, Amber & Addi; his grandsons, Esteban & Addison; his brothers & sisters-in-law, Steve & Darlene Morris of Pensacola, Florida and Donny Morris, Robby & Kathy Morris and Mike Morris, all of Davenport; and many other family members & very special friends, including Geno Wolfe of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl.
