Milton Drenter

Milton A. Drenter, 92, of Woodland Park, Colorado and formerly of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Forest Ridge Senior Living in Woodland Park.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Davenport Memorial Park.

Milton was born March 13, 1929 in on a farm in Lincoln Township, Scott County, Iowa, the second of three children to J. “Frank” & Velma H. (Mathias) Drenter.  He attended the local one-room school and graduated 8th grade. He worked the family farm, first with horses and later with tractors.

He was immediately interested in machinery and studied everything in great detail. Due to this knowledge and aptitude, the U.S. Army sent him to rocket school training just after WWII. He was involved in rocket development in Germany.

He was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Gerrard on September 15, 1948 in Davenport. They had two children and continued farming. He and Beverly retired to Colorado where they had enjoyed many vacations.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Beverly; his daughter Sheri (Dan Perkins); his son, Greg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his brother, Marvin.

Milton was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Delores.
