Mitchell J. “Slick” Rank, 53, of Davenport, died Wednesday, May 25, 2010 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, May 28, 2010 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the services on Friday at the funeral home. Additionally, a memorial gathering will be held at the Eagles Lodge in Davenport (4401 W. Locust St.) following the services at the funeral home on Friday. Cremation rites will be accorded and memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or to the Humane Society of Scott County.
Slick was born October 8, 1956 in Davenport, the son of Everett Dean & Dorothy Darlene (Stewart) Rank. On October 4, 1986, he was united in marriage to Karen F. Logsdon in Davenport.
He was employed for the Kone Company, Escalator Division in Coal Valley, Illinois for the past 23 years. He enjoyed the Chicago Bears, the Iowa Hawkeyes and was also a hockey fan. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and enjoyed the company of his dogs, Punkie & Bailey and his family and friends.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Karen; his sister and brother-in-law, Gail & Jim Buhman of Bettendorf; his mother-in-law & father-in-law, Lera and Bluford Logsdon of Davenport, Iowa; his beloved dogs, Punkie & Bailey; and several nieces and nephews, special friends and sisters and brothers-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
